Since the Ladies victory over Chalfont St Giles, things have not been going brilliantly for the Club.
The following Saturday after the Ladies’ game, we visited Chalfont in a Three Counties League match. Things didn’t go too much in our favour in this one with a final score of 102-57 in favour of our opponents.
Next up was a Men’s Vets game away at Kings Langley. On an unpredictable green, we went down by 26-48.
We were hoping to get back to winning ways when entertaining Wendover in the Chiltern & Thames League. Unfortunately, the weather intervened and, by mutual agreement, the game has been re-arranged for August.
Our opening game in the Ray Keen League resulted in a good away victory for Chess Vale. We travelled to Flackwell Heath and came away with a final score was 18-13 in our favour.
This week concluded with a home match against Gerrards Cross. We did achieve a win on one rink with a team of Dave Holt, Sheila Clarke and Ron Nettleton but out opponents were successful on the other two for an overall victory by 55-41.
