On 20 July, we hosted Amersham in a C & T M L match. Although we lost on two rinks, we managed to take the overall win by 49-46.
Our next match was a Ray Keen League game against Richings Park, a new opponent for us in this league and a bit of an unknown quantity. However, we came out on top with a final score of 30-14.
Next up was a home game against Bassetsbury in the Three Counties League. We managed two wins but lost on three rinks with a final aggregate score of 71-91. Our top winning rink was Sheila Dominic, Hazel Baker and Barry Redding.
On Tuesday 28 July, we travelled to Rickmansworth, one of our least favourite greens. Once again, we ended up on the wrong end of the scoreline with an aggregate of 18-49. We did go close on one rink, losing by only one shot but took a pasting on the other one.
We maintained our improved form in the Ray Keen League last Wednesday at Gerrards Cross. It was a thrilling game that went to the last end where we snatched victory by 19-18. The green was excellent and probably as fast as playing at home
Unfortunately, we ended the week with a very heavy defeat at Amersham in the C& TML. We found the green a bit on the heavy side and never really got to grips with the length. The final score was 26-91, probably one of our heaviest defeats for some years.
