When we arrived for our home game with Wraysbury, we found that we were unable to gain access to our car park due to a pothole repair being done immediately in front of our gates. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait too long but before the game had started the rain/hail came pouring down! Again, not too much of a delay and we were able to get the match underway. We had completed the games on four of the five rinks when the rain hammered down again! As that particular rink was almost completed, the players decided to call it a day after seventeen ends.
As to the match itself, it was a very close-fought affair. Despite Chess Vale winning on three rinks, the overall result went in favour of the visitors by 89-79. Top rink for the home side was Sheila Clarke, Margaret Harding and Ron Nettleton.
