We were able to enjoy some good weather this week for a few home matches.
On Wednesday, we entertained Tring and managed to win on four rinks out of five with an overall score of 97-74. Our top rink was Jean Batchelor, Brian Rogers and Chris Wellsted.
Next up was a Three Counties League match against local rivals from Amersham. This was a very close game with three rinks won by Chess Vale and two by Amersham. The aggregate score was 83-72 and the top rink was Dave Holt, Kevin Jones and Jean Nettleton.
On Sunday, the weather was very kind again for our annual Triples Competition. After the round-robin phase three triple were tied on three wins each. The finalists were decided on “ends won” with the team of Freda Holt, Will Gehrig and Alan Sherrock taking the trophy.
