It has been a week of mixed fortunes.
We started with a narrow defeat to Bassetsbury in the Three Counties League. We managed to win on two rinks but lost on three with a final score of Chess Vale 80 Bassetsbury 87. Our top rink was Dave Holt, Margaret Harding and Barry Redding.
On Tuesday, we played our return match against Croxley Green in the Watford Vets League. Having lost by only two shots at Croxley in the previous encounter, we went down again by only two shots, losing by 25-27. Our winning rink was Kevin Jones, Chris Wellsted and Alan Sherrock.
In the Ray Keen League on Wednesday, we had a terrific struggle against Flackwell but came out on top in the final end by 15-14. The team for this game was Margaret Harding, Kevin Jones, Chris Wellsted and Pete West.
A rather sobering night on Thursday against Amersham in the C & TL. We never really got to grips with the heavy surface and went down on all three rinks by a score of 34-78.
Back at home on Sunday, we recorded our best win of the Season in the Three Counties League with an emphatic 127-61 victory over Wexham. Top rink was Freda Holt, Chris Wellsted and Alan Sherrock.
