On Tuesday, we played Batchwood Blue in the Watford Vets League. They are newcomers to Division 1 so we weren’t quite sure how this one would go. In the event we achieved another home victory by 38-26 to maintain a position in mid-table.
The conditions we quite warm on Friday for our Town Cup match against Bryan Collins and Bill Caple from Broadway. We were represented by Pete West and Chris Wellsted and although the match was close in the early stages, we finished by winning six successive ends and a final score of 25-7.
Final game of the week was for the short trip to Wendover. We were able to field six teams, three in the C & T M L match and three in a friendly. In the league match, we lost on two rinks but managed to come out on top overall by 61-54. Our winning rink was Margaret Harding, Chris Wellsted and Andy Loakes. The friendly match went in favour of Wendover by 57-38 despite a good effort by our players.
